Château de Saint-Aubin is featured in the Magazine Terre de Vins
A big thank you to Terre de Vins and Clément L’Hôte for this super article on the imminent opening of Château de Saint-Aubin, the new home of Prosper Maufoux.
This property, owned by the Piffaut family , which has just undergone extensive renovation, opens to the public in Spring 2021, with the inauguration of its guest suites and a new program of visits and tastings.
Just off the ‘route des grands crus’, Saint-Aubin is one of the most tranquil wine-growing areas of the Côte de Beaune. The Piffaut family, owners of Château de Saint- Aubin, embarked upon a vast renovation program in their desire to enhance the property and promote the setting, in a project that embraces a new guest room offer . Four guest suites will open this spring, each with their own personality, with an interior design that mixes antique furniture and contemporary style. A major feature of the rooms is their panoramic views over the vineyards of this village whose wines figure amongst the most renowned white Burgundies, like their neighbors Puligny-Montrachet , Chassagne-Montrachet and Meursault .
A tour of the vineyards by e-bike
The owners have also developed a wine tourism offer that proposes four formulas, all including a visit to the vineyard and the cellars, and a commented tasting of the estate wines. And in a thoroughly modern touch, they also offer e-bike rental , along with an app that will guide visitors around the neighboring villages.
The Piffaut family, premier producers of Crémant de Bourgogne with their Veuve Ambal brand, acquired Château de Saint-Aubin in 2015. This estate of 12 hectares is exclusively planted with Chardonnay and renowned for its great white wines, notably the Clos du Chateau , a Monopole Saint-Aubin Premier Cru, but also wines from renowned terroirs such as Chassagne, Puligny or Meursault, the ‘golden triangle’ of white Burgundies.
